Who looks after the data?

Data controller

Name
WinOMania Sister Sites
Server log
Deleted after 14 days

Under the UK GDPR, responsibility for the personal data a visit produces, the server log and the request data Cloudflare handles (both below), lies with this site as data controller. You can write about it to info@winomaniasistersites.co.uk.

What does your browser keep from a visit?

This site sets no cookies, writes no local storage and loads no tracking pixels. Each page is delivered complete; a handful of script lines only work the skip button and the “On this page” jumps. Fonts, icon and sharing image are served from this domain, so no font, analytics or advertising company hears about your visit.

What does the server log, and for how long?

The machine that serves these pages logs every request, noting your IP address, when you asked, the request itself (method, page and protocol), the response status, the bytes sent, the page you arrived from and whatever your browser reports about itself (its user agent).

It keeps them for one reason, to keep the site running and secure, a purpose the UK GDPR accepts as a legitimate interest. A new file is opened every day, and each is thrown away once it’s 14 days old. Nobody buys it, and it isn’t shared.

Every request reaches that machine through Cloudflare, Inc., which provides the site’s content delivery and security service and processes IP addresses and request data to deliver and protect the site.

Which rights can you use, and how?

Where the server log holds your personal data, UK data-protection law lets you see it, correct it, have it erased or object to its use, within the law’s conditions. Write to info@winomaniasistersites.co.uk, mentioning roughly when you visited; the log knows IP addresses, not people. You can also take a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office, online at ico.org.uk.
